1. Introduction

The International Summer School on Composites in Infrastructure (ISSCI) is an official activity of International Centre for Composites in Infrastructure (ICCI) established at University of Wollongong, Australia. The inaugural and the second ISSCI were held at University of Wollongong in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Following that, the event was held at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China in 2018, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China in 2019, Western Sydney University, Sydney, Australia in 2023 and Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen, China in 2024. Following the success of the previous series, the 7^th ISSCI are jointly organized by University of Science & Technology Beijing and Tsinghua University, and will be held in the coming August in Beijing, China.

The ISSCI 2026 will be led by a distinguished faculty comprised of internationally renowned scholars. It will focus on the structural applications of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites in infrastructure. The ISSCI is designed to equip researchers and postgraduate students with the necessary foundation to conduct high-caliber research in this field, and to prepare engineers for the practical implementation of FRP composites. The curriculum offers a comprehensive and in-depth exploration of the behavior, modeling, and design of structures incorporating FRP composites (including both FRP-strengthening techniques for existing structures and the design of new FRP-based structures).

The ISSCI 2026 will be preceded by the 10^th Asia-Pacific Conference on FRP in Structures (APFIS 2026), scheduled on 05-07/AUG/2025. APFIS is an international conference series since 2007 in Hong Kong. It opens to researchers, academics, students, manufacturers, consultants, contractors and policy makers, aiming to showcase research, development and application of fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites in the built environment. ISSCI participants are invited to attend the APFIS 2026 with a discounted registration fee.
